ADVANTAGES OF SAND & FINISH OF HARDWOOD FLOORS
There are many distinct benefits for on-site sand and finish of hardwood floors. For the beauty of a smooth, uninterrupted surface, and an endless variety of possibilities for the discriminating customer, custom sand, and finish is ideal.
A wood floor finished on site allows for endless options. Available to the customer are a variety of wood species (North American or exotic), widths (up to 10″ planks), cuts (flat sawn, quarter sawn, rift sawn), figure (bird’s eye maple or quilting cherry, for example), and medallions and borders.
If the customer desires to match a piece of wood furniture with the hardwood floor, custom stain can be mixed to match closely.
Unfinished wood flooring can be installed at most any time in the construction process—installed as early as when the home is sealed or finished nearly dust-free.
Variety of Finishes and Sheens
The customer may choose oil or water urethanes in stain, semi-gloss, or gloss sheens. A new water-based urethane called TRAFFIC is a commercial grade urethane which is the toughest urethane finish made today.
